Getting Started

Congratulations on taking your first steps towards improving your mental health and living more fully. Getting started can be the most difficult part of the journey.

Engaging in psychotherapy is an important decision. It calls for a very active effort on your part. In order for therapy to be most successful, you will have to work on things we talk about both during our sessions and your time outside of sessions. Psychotherapy also involves a large commitment of time and energy—and can be a financial commitment as well—so you should be very careful about the therapist you select.

I offer a complimentary 10-minute phone consultation for you to share your goals and expectations for therapy, ask questions, learn more about the services I provide, and see if we are a good therapeutic fit. If we are a good fit, I will collect some information and send you forms to complete prior to our first session. We will also agree upon a time to meet and discuss ways you can prepare for the session, so we can maximize our time together. If we discover we are not a good fit or our schedules do not match, I can offer referrals to other providers who may be better able to meet your needs. I will always hold your best interest and seek the best solution for your well-being.

INSURANCES

I currently accept HMSA (all plans), BCBS (BlueCard), HMAA, UHA, and TRICARE insurances. It is your responsibility to confirm that I am an in-network provider for your insurance.

Copays plus tax are due at the time of service. Copays tend to range from $0 (Medicaid) to $30 per session, depending on your specific health insurance plan. For your convenience, I offer online payment options.

For clients who wish to pay out-of-pocket, my fees are $200 plus tax per therapy hour. I will provide a Good Faith Estimate at the start of therapy for clients who pay out-of-pocket or elect not to use their health insurance.
